Temporary Home...

It is not to often that a song touches my heart the way this song did...Thanks for posting this Nikki. It is the new song by Carrie Underwood. What a powerful message.

I particularly like the last verse. I can vividly remember on several occasions while watching loved ones pass away thinking how blessed I am to know that I will see them again. That not being able to see them in this life was only temporary. Enjoy!!

A little boy, six years old
A little too used to being alone
Another new mom and dad
Another school, another house that will never be home
When people ask him how he likes this place
He looks up and says with a smile upon his face

This is my temporary home, it's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
This is my temporary home

Young mom, on her own
She needs a little help, got nowhere to go
She's looking for a job, looking for a way out'
Cause a halfway house will never be a home
At night she whispers to her baby girl"
Someday we'll find our place here in this world"

This is our temporary home, it's not where we belong
Windows and rooms that we're passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where we're going
I'm not afraid because I knowThis is our temporary home

Old man, hospital bed
The room is filled with people he loves
And he whispers"
Don't cry for me, I'll see you all someday"
He looks up and says
"I can see God's face"

This is my temporary home, it's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passing through
This was just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I knowThis was my temporary home
This is our temporary home

Football, Football, Football

Why didn't anyone tell me what I was getting myself into. Or maybe you did and I wasn't listening. Either way...I truly didn't realize how MAJOR this football thing really is. I had heard that you eat, sleep and breathe football, but I don't think you realize how true that is until you are in it. Between tryouts and getting him to practice on time every day, I am not sure which is more stressful. Before school started, he was practicing for 2 hours every single day. Once school started it moved down to a 3 nights a week still 2 hours. Crazy. Brax was "drafted" to the Black Team or "SUPER B" team. I still don't quite understand what all the different teams are. I am sure I will learn real quick.

It has been so much fun to watch him learn the game and do so well. He is a Wide Receiver and loves it. Brax is a natural athlete. So far this year his team have won 3 out of the 4 games. Brax has scored 3 pass play touchdowns and 1 extra point. Awesome right. Anywho, I think that he has found a new sport that he may love even more then soccer. However I do hope that he doesn't give soccer up completely because he is so dang good at it. Love you buddy. Keep playing your best and I know that you guys will go on to win the championship game.
Go HAWKS!!
Braxton's nice catch

WeE WiTchEs NiGhT!

Every year while the boys attend the Priesthood Conference the girls take the kids to dinner and to do something fun. This year we went to Five Guys (soooo not on my diet) and then to Gardner Village to see the Witches. They are so stinkin cute. We had a lot of fun. Brax got a little bit board at the end but we told him to enjoy it since it will be his last time with us. Next Conf. he will be able to go to the Priesthood meeting with the big boys. That is just so hard to believe. Sniff Sniff. Anywho..Since it was "Wee Witches Night Out", they had fun kids music playing. Avery loved that part. I was sad that all the kids weren't able to be there but it was still a lot of fun. Thanks Girls for the fun night.!!

For All my Scrapbook Enthusiasts

It is that time of year again...Fall Scrapbook Expo. I know that many of you think that I am silly to get excited about the Expo. But we always have so much fun.

There are a few of us that signed up for the VIP. We had to sign up in Aug...YUCK. However,We still have tables all around us that we can pull over so you can join in the fun. On Friday nights they have a scrap-a-thon til midnight. So we are usually there from 9:00 am to midnight. We will leave for a while and go get some dinner and then come back and scrap away. Anywho. We would love you all to come join in the fun!!

If anything, it is just a fun night out with the girls and a little time away from the kidlets. Love you all.

PS...Sorry no picture. I got in trouble for the last ones I posted. LOL

School Days!!

I can't believe summer is over and it is time for School to start again. I swear summer just started. I guess time truly does fly when you are having fun. The kids were surprisingly pretty excited to start school this year. I was kinda bummed because I didn't get a picture of Brax and Ave together this year. My sis was there to pic up Brax and Ave was still getting ready for school. (They start at 2 different times since the go to different schools) Oh well...I guess there is next year.

Brax started 6th grade. I can't even believe I have a 6th grader Scary. He didn't get the teacher that he would have liked but he got the teacher he had in 3rd grade Mrs Wester. He said that she was really mean but I don't remember that. When I took him to see who his teacher was he got back in the said. Well Isaac isn't in my class (his best friend) but Bailey and Aubrey are. I asked him what other boys were in his class and he said "I don't know" I thought it was funny. Silly boy. Anywho..Here is my big 6th grader. Love you buddy I hope you have the best year ever.

Miss Avery started 2nd grade. She didn't get the teacher she wanted either but it didn't seem to bother her too much. Her teacher is Mrs. Bronson. She is new this year. She was super bummed that Clara and Abbie weren't in her class this year. They were both in her class last year. However, there was so much drama with those three I am sure Mrs Wilkins made sure they weren't in the same class again. I have never seen 3 little girls with such MAJOR Drama at their age. Seriously. It was kinda funny. Anywho, when I took her to class today she was so excited because she found out that her classroom was in a portable. I thought it was funny. She also found a few friends from the neighborhood and from her class last year so I know she felt better after that. Love ya Princess. I hope 2nd grade goes as well as 1st but maybe with a little less drama.

Happy 7th Birthday Avery

Little Miss Avery turned the BIG 7 this year. I can't believe my baby is 7.

Avery has been talking about what she wanted to do for her birthday party for a year now. We had planned on going to Cowabunga bay until a couple of weeks before her birthday. I got the idea (after attending kids day at Chick-Fil-A) to have a face painter and a balloon artist come to the house. Ave thought that was a great idea. Then of course I had to take it to the extreme. So I came up with the idea to have a carnival. So not only did we have a face painter and a balloon artist. We also had carnival games like Pop the balloon, Ring Toss for Soda, Cotton Candy and Popcorn. It turned out to be such a fun party. Thank goodness I had lots of family and friends there to help. I was so stinkin HOT. However, I think all the kids had a great time. At least i hope they did. The heat didn't seem to bother them a bit. The face painter/balloon artist was AMAZING. She did such a great job. Here are some pics.

Happy Birthday Ave. I hope your day was all you dreamed of. Love you!!

Twinkle Toe's!!

Miss Avery had her dance recital at Kingsbury Hall on Tues. The production this year was the Wizard of OZ. She was the Tin Mans Heart. She did such a cute job.
I had to laugh when she started to boss another little girl telling her she wasn't in the right spot. "We were supposed to be behind the tape Mom". That's my Avery.
We had a great time watching her perform. You can definitely tell that the stage is her calling. She loves all the costumes and the make-up. However I think her favorite part of the whole thing is the flowers she get afterward. Love ya Ave. Great Job my Little Twinkle Toe's!!
